Marsalforn was formerly a quaint fishing village. It's attractiveness as a holiday destination for Maltese has turned it into a booming resort with upscale hotels and restaurants surrounding the crescent shaped sand beach. The bustle of tourist season gives way to the much quieter off-season. Marsalforn is popular with Gozitans on weekends for strolls on the boardwalk, dining out and as a landing point for boating and Jet-skiing. There are still operational salt pans nearby.
