| Buses in Gozo |

Although the buses in Gozo are very inexpensive (like on Malta's main island) they do not run frequently to all destinations and the schedules can be very complicated. For this reason the bus is not ideal for sightseeing. However, once you are settled in and living somewhere you can become familiar with your local bus schedule, making it a very useful way to pop into Victoria for the morning (no parking worries) or to get you back up the hill after a day at Ramla Beach in the summer. The buses are grey with red trim and alternate between older Greyhound-style motor coaches and quaint 1950s buses. Of course, as the distances in Gozo are so short, no trip takes longer than perhaps ten minutes.
For complete bus routes and schedules, go to the official timetable. You will note that the schedules vary depending on whether it is a weekday or weekend or public holiday. Also, some routes (for example, from Victoria to Ramla Beach or to Dwejra) are only available during the summer months. Discuss this article on the forums. (0 posts) |

The bus terminus in Victoria, seen here, is the hub of the bus system. There is a bus office with staff ready to answer your questions about times and routes and all Gozo buses start and end their runs here. For the most part, Gozo's buses go to the outlying villages and back to Victoria in a loop pattern. Some routes are serviced more frequently than others with Route 25 between Mgarr's ferry terminal and Victoria the most regular as buses are synchronized to the ferry schedule until 7:00 p.m..
