Malta and Gozo have a surprisingly vibrant music scene.  Since the country is so small, you get several chances each year to see the biggest stars.   There is an annual Gozo Music Festival.

 The downside of being small and isolated is that Maltese talent seeking international success usually spent the vast majority of their time away in the UK , Germany and elsewhere in Europe.  Bands like the Beangrowers perform infrequently in Malta and rarely in Gozo.

Big international acts will generally only put on one show over in Malta.  Since I arrived, there has been Sting, Duran Duran, Bryan Adams, Enrique Iglesias and a few others that I can't recall.  Roger Waters performed The Wall in Gozo.

 Doctor and the Medics played in Nadur last year and they were a crowd pleaser.  There is a stone truck in Gozo that bears the name Spirit in the Sky .  I don't know if there is a connection.
